Fairfax Youth Initiative presents: The FYI Film Festival | ‘The Stories That Make Us’

Saturday 28 May 2022.

Join us for a film festival like no other, as we showcase the true stories of 20 young people across the Murray Mallee.

The Stories That Make Us is a celebration of creativity, youth, and community, presented by the Fairfax Youth Initiative.

Across 2021 and 2022, The Fairfax Youth Initiative professionally produced the stories of 20 young storytellers. The result: an entire festival of short films, shot in 10 days, across 8 regional and rural towns in the Murray Mallee, Victoria.

With stories originally developed and performed as part of the FYI online storytelling mentorships in 2021, participants engaged in months of writing, mentoring, workshops, rehearsal and open-mic performance nights through the pandemic via Zoom.

Now, we’re proud to to give these exceptional young voices a platform and share their stories on the big screen with the community that shaped them.
