Become a Volunteer at the Swan Hill Town Hall Performing Arts Centre

Do you have an interest in performing arts whether Front of House or behind the scenes?

Join our volunteer program and gain new skills, meet new people, have fun and become a valued member of the Swan Hill Town Hall team.

Provide a professional theatre experience to visitors, ensure general public are made to feel welcome, satisfied and have a positive safe experience whilst in the venue.

This opportunity hopes to aid in furthering the volunteer’s confidence, and customer service skills whilst experiencing the local arts and performance culture.

No prior experience necessary.

  • Friendly engagement and assistance with patrons in large interactive events such as Christmas Wonderland and outdoor events
  • Monitoring the safe entry and departure of patrons from the auditorium space
  • Greet the public and responding to enquiries.
  • Provide direction or assistance to patrons find their designated seating.
  • Assist with the set-up, pack down and/or clean-up of theatre spaces.
  • Provide support if required with evacuation procedures in the case of the alarm activation.
  • Accumulate points to redeem tickets to attend shows ** Conditions apply
  • An opportunity to further their vocational experience or job seeking experience.
  • Experience a variety of both local, national and international performances.
  • Be exposed to tasks that will improve your customer service and confidence.
  • Developing a working knowledge of theatre etiquette and events.
  • To participate in our volunteer program, you must be at least 16 years of age.
  • Volunteers between 16 -18 years of age will be required to provide the consent of a parent or guardian.
  • Working with Children Certificate
  • Full training will be provided for all volunteer roles and experienced staff will always be on hand to support volunteers.
