DESCRIPTION:Based on the much-loved picture book by Julia Donaldson & Axel Scheffler and brought to you by the award-winning team behind The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child\, the characters of Room on the Broom fly into Swan Hill this September following sell-out seasons across Australia. \nThe witch and her cat are flying happily on their broomstick – until a stormy wind blows away the witch’s hat\, bow and wand.\nA helpful dog\, bird and frog find the witch’s lost things\, and they all hop on the broom for a ride. \nBut this broomstick’s not meant for five and – CRACK – the broom snaps in two! \nWhen a hungry dragon appears\, who will save the poor witch? And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone? \nCombining physical theatre\, music and puppetry\, Room on the Broom brings this much-loved story about friendship\, sharing and working together from the page to the stage in a magical introduction to theatre\, for kids aged 3-8 (and their adults). \n“Room on the Broom has been one of our most loved and most popular shows since we first brought it to life in Australia\,” says Andrew Threlfall\, Director of CDP Theatre Producers. \n“We’re delighted to once again have our local team bring this beautiful story to life and to tour it nationally to share with children\, families and education audiences.” \nUK theatre company Tall Stories’ adaptation of Room on the Broom was first performed in 2008 and has been toured in Australia by leading children’s theatre company CDP Theatre Producers since 2013.

DESCRIPTION:A Little Robot who longs to become “real” – but is he ready for what it means to become alive? \nThe story is about an inventor Doctorr Doovalacky\, who with the help of his assistant\, a green Caterpillar named Gizmo\, sets out to build a robot.\nBut this will be no ordinary robot\, Trinket will have the ability to have feelings like a “real” human. The audience helps him to learn about the world\, but quickly it becomes complicated. Doctorr Doovalacky finds himself losing control of his own creation. \nTrinket learns that to become human is to not only to feel wonder and joy\, but also to feel other emotions like anger\, fear and the sadness of saying goodbye to someone when you are not ready to. Having feelings is not easy and to be alive means making difficult choices. \nTrinket the Robot is a lively\, funny\, interactive\, modern re-telling of Pinocchio\, that explores emotions and offers ways for children to understand different feelings. \nSNAP FACTS \n\nIt’s a puppet show.\nIt’s funny.\nIt’s about an inventor\, his assistant who is a caterpillar and a robot named Trinket.\nIt’s interactive: the audience participates in the show.\nThe style of puppetry is rod-puppetry influenced by Japanese Bunraku\, a 300 year old tradition of puppetry\, where the puppets are performed on a table\, and the puppeteers are visible behind.\nIt’s recommended for children aged 3 to 10 years old but is also enjoyed by adults.\n\n“Thank you\, that was the best!” -Lucas\, 8 year old\, MiRA Marysville\, VIC \n“Wonderful.
